Her scientific, artistic, and teaching achievements are supported by interests focused on areas that combine the classification of architectural spaces in terms of the psychology of perception and reception, with respect to the interdependencies and interrelationships between the fields of pure art and design. Her core activity is the search for answers to holistic human needs in the context of environmental changes, the expanded spectrum of cognitive factors, and the social significance of art in design processes. She is the author of numerous scientific publications, monographs, and projects that have received industrial design and trademark status, and a research director. She has participated in scientific and artistic conferences and symposia, interdisciplinary research projects, and grants, including the International Project of the Sino-Polish University Consortium, Building the Territory of the Future: Urban Planning and Design for a Sustainable and Resilient Community, and POVR: An Integrated University for the Future. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Interdisciplinary Symposium of Art, Science, and Technology (MEDEA). She works in the fields of design, painting, drawing, digital graphics, multimedia, and photography, focusing on the emotional expression of artistic creations, the role of art in the process of architectural perception, and design synergy. She has presented her work in 40 solo exhibitions and over 115 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad (including in Austria, Belgium, China, Montenegro, Greece, Japan, Germany, and Sweden). She curates and organizes exhibitions, shows, and competitions, serves on competition juries, and is a recipient of awards and artistic distinctions. She has been awarded the Gold Medal for Long Service. She treats teaching in the visual arts and architectural design as a mission, passing on her experience to young people, sharing her passions, teaching collaboration, sensitivity to the world around us, and respect for others. She supervises doctoral and diploma theses, and acts as a reviewer in promotion proceedings.
The main area of research of Prof. Joanna Stefańska is research into the relationship between architectural space and art, and the impact of these relationships on the perception of visual art. She is the author of articles and scholarly monographs in which she addresses issues related to the articulation of exhibition spaces in the context of art presentation.
In her scholarly works, she addresses methods of formulating artistic messages and the exploration and analysis of factors determining the impact of visual art in the context of exhibition space.
She works in the fields of painting, drawing, digital graphics, as well as interior design and exhibition design. In her artistic endeavors, she incorporates site-specific aspects and intermedia explorations using objects, photography, film, and digital technologies.
In her projects, she emphasizes the crucial role of combining media and the need to transcend the physical boundaries of the image, treating artistic activity as a spatial phenomenon. A key element of her artistic practice is the organization of exhibition spaces in the context of searching for optimal solutions for the presentation of art objects, with particular emphasis on site-specific practices as an example of the synergy between architectural space and art. She has presented her works in 34 solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Belgium, the Czech Republic, Greece, Japan, Germany, and Italy. She is the recipient of artistic awards and distinctions and a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art. She has served as a reviewer in twenty habilitation procedures conducted in the field of art, in the disciplines of visual arts and art conservation. She has also supervised doctoral theses. She organizes and curates exhibitions and artistic events, workshops, and symposia. Since 2020, she has served as Deputy Director of the Institute of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture, Poznań University of Technology.
Professor Andrzej Maciej Łubowski, Ph.D. ... In the 1970s, he became known as one of the leading representatives of hyperrealism in Poland.
At that time, he painted symbolic paintings based on photography, depicting the human figure amidst the furrowed earth of urban excavations—crypto-self-portraits. He has had 55 solo exhibitions. Recently, he began painting multi-figure paintings based on photography, depicting people passing through urban spaces. These paintings address the human condition. Professor Andrzej Maciej Łubowski's works are included in numerous museum collections, including the Collection of 20th and 21st Century Art at the Museum of Art in Łódź.
A member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists, he served on its governing bodies, including vice-president of the Warsaw Board and president of the Poznań Branch of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP) for four terms. He curated numerous exhibitions and symposia. He received the ZPAP Gold Badge. For his artistic activity he was awarded the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Award and the Bronze and Silver Medals for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis.
He studied painting and sculpture at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań (currently University of Arts in Poznań). He made his debut in 1993 at the exhibition "New Generation in Polish Art. Ideas Beyond Ideology" at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw. He earned his doctorate in 2003 from the Faculty of Sculpture and Spatial Actions, Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. He earned his habilitation in 2013 from the Faculty of Sculpture and Spatial Actions, UAP in Poznań. Since 2000, he has worked at WAPP in the Department of Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Visual Arts. Since 2015, he has taught the course "Cultural Codes in Construction" for doctoral students at the Faculty of BiIŚ. Since 2019, he has been Chairman of the Committee on Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Architecture of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznań Branch. He specializes in painting objects, easel painting, and architecture. He also designs church interiors and furnishings, including sculpture and stained glass. He is the author of installations, objects, and sculptures that integrate with architecture and its surroundings. He also conducts interactive projects combining scenography and intermedia. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

From 1990 to 1995, she studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the University of Arts) in Poznań, at the Faculty of Painting, Graphic Arts, and Sculpture, majoring in Sculpture.
She completed her thesis in sculpture under the supervision of Professor Józef Kopczyński in 1996, obtaining a Master of Arts degree.
From 1998, she collaborated with the Zygfryd Kochanowski foundry in Rokietnica, creating numerous bronze sculptures.
In 2000, she began working at the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznań University of Technology for a trial period.
Since 2001, she has held a research and teaching position in the Department of Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Visual Arts at the Faculty of Architecture, teaching second- and third-year students about sculpture in the context of architecture and space.
In 2003, she became a professor at the Faculty of Architecture. She actively participated in the purchase of a ceramic kiln for the Department and organized a ceramics laboratory for students of the Faculty of Architecture. She organized and equipped a stained glass studio and conducted research workshops with fifth-year students on the design and implementation of stained glass techniques.
In 2006, she organized a summer ceramics workshop for architecture students in Kożmin as part of the EU Project "Gardens of the World."
Since 2003, she has been a member of the examination committee at the Faculty of Architecture and supervises annual painting and drawing workshops. In addition to her teaching activities at the Department, she led regular art workshops for several years at the "ART. MUNDI" Open-Air Academy of Art under the patronage of Professor Stefan Jurga, Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University.
In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Architecture, obtaining a doctorate in technical sciences in the field of architecture and urban planning.
In 2011, she completed her master's degree in architecture and urban planning. In collaboration with Primary School No. 11 in Poznań, she participated in the EU preventive and educational project "Fabryka Ciszy," designing recreational facilities for children with hyperactivity with second-year Architecture students.
Since 2011, she has been employed as an assistant professor in the Department of Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Visual Arts at the Faculty of Architecture. She has taught sculpture classes for second-year Architecture students and first-year Artistic Education students. The students' work in sculpture, ceramic architectural detail, mosaic, and stained glass resulted in annual exhibitions held at the "Stary Browar" Malthouse Gallery in the Poznań University of Technology Lecture Center and the Archdiocesan Museum.
Since 2013, she has also held a number of exhibitions at the "Stary Browar" Malthouse Gallery in the Poznań University of Technology Lecture Center and the Archdiocesan Museum. As part of her collaboration with the Poznań Archaeological Museum and the Genius Loci Archaeological Reserve, she participated in annual interdisciplinary and research projects, such as the exhibition "Archaeological Secrets of the Palatium and Cathedral of Poznań's Ostrów," organized in 2016 to commemorate the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland, which received the Grand Prix in the "IZABELLA 2016" Competition.
She has organized and conducted several design competitions for students of the Faculty of Architecture, established a glass in architecture laboratory, and taught fusing classes to students of Interior Design. She is the supervisor of the "Arch'deco" student group. Currently, he works as an assistant professor at the Institute of Interior Design and Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznań University of Technology, where he designs modular ceramic elements functioning in the context of architecture, sculpture, fusing, portraiture, and medal engraving.
In his academic work, he explores the relationship between color and painting and architectural space. His research focuses on the aesthetics and quality of architectural interior space, emphasizing the distinctiveness of architecturally related wall painting from the mural movement. His second area of research focuses on issues related to postmodern culture and aesthetic issues in architecture and contemporary art.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1998 and completed an artistic internship at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, France, and earned a doctorate in painting (UAP) in 2014.
He works in oil, watercolor, and al fresco, al secco, and Keim A mural techniques. He designs frescoes and furnishings for sacred buildings. He has presented his paintings in numerous exhibitions and has completed numerous mural projects in Poland and France. His important achievements include: the reconstruction of the Baroque polychromes (260 m²) in the Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord in Poznań (2004–2005), the design of the fresco "Melancholia" for the facade of the National Museum in Poznań (presented at the Arsenal Municipal Gallery, Poznań (2014), and the creation of four frescoes: "Polish Soldiers in Comblessac," "The Story of St. Convoion," "The Story of the Foundation of the Chapel of N.D. de Lorette," and "The Miracles of St. Melainius" in the Church of Saint Eloi in Comblessac, France (2022). He conducted therapeutic and educational work with people with intellectual disabilities and young people. He co-founded the Meeting Gallery at the Carmelitanum Institute of Spirituality in Poznań and hosted the radio program "Radio Gallery of Imagination" on Radio Emmaus in Poznań. He lectured on issues of art and public space at conferences, meetings and courses. He is the co-author of the book Between the Museum and the Presbytery (2017), for which he received the "Poznaniana 2017" award. He works in art criticism and theory. He has published columns and articles, among others, in the magazine Obieg (CSW) at Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw. He combines his experience in the field of visual arts with choral music. As a tenor, he is a member of the Poznań Philharmonic Choir, Poznańskie Słowiki. With the ensemble, he gives concerts in Poland and abroad.
Paulina Kowalczyk is a visual artist, curator, and English professor. Her primary research area is the relationship between art and the audience in the context of exhibition venues, with particular emphasis on unconventional spaces and art in public spaces. Her academic achievements include scholarly articles and conference participation.
She also works in the visual arts, often working with sound in her projects. Her primary discipline is painting, but she also utilizes drawing, digital and studio graphics (woodcut, screen printing, offset, metal techniques), ceramics, installation, and performance. Her practice incorporates site-specific and in-situ aspects. She has held 30 solo exhibitions and her work has been featured in over 100 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Japan, France, Italy, and Hungary. She has participated in numerous international plein-air workshops, conferences, and art festivals. She also works in the fields of curation and education in art theory, the psychophysiology of vision, and color theory. She guest lectures at art institutions and online as part of the "Culture on the Net" project. She leads drawing and painting workshops at the MBWA Gallery in Leszno and the Chalupka Gallery in Prague, among others. She also collaborated with the Węgajty Theatre for 10 years. She is a member of two artistic groups: Entropia and Nomen.
An architect and graphic designer, she teaches drawing and painting at the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznań University of Technology. For many years, she has been preparing future students for drawing exams as the founder and leader of the "Studio" drawing school. She is passionate about freehand drawing and new media art. She actively works as a graphic designer, creating visual identities and promotional materials for Polish brands.
She graduated with a master's degree in architecture and urban planning from the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznań University of Technology in 2022 and has been a doctoral candidate at the Poznań University of Technology Doctoral School since 2024. Her research focuses on the potential use of biomaterials in architecture and design. She is the author of scientific articles describing her research on the properties of mycelium-based composites in architecture and interior design, as well as their acceptance by consumers.
